Nissan Unveils the Made-Over Pathfinder
Published Thursday, 12 January, 2012 by Blog Admin. Categories: New Inventory, News.
A few weeks ago, Nissan released a teaser image of the redesigned Pathfinder. From the dark shot, the only thing we could see was a sculpted exterior that conveyed a feeling of movement. Along with the image they put a short film on their website about the versatility of the Pathfinder, and the only thing we could tell from the video was that the next-gen SUV would like get a pretty good size moon roof. Everything else was left up to our imagination.
We impatiently waited for its official debut at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, and we're here to tell you: it was worth the wait. We've loved every generation of the Nissan Pathfinder since its first iteration 25 years ago, and the new attitude and style of the new model appears to be a game-changer for the entire Nissan brand. In fact, according to the automaker, this is one of twenty new or redesigned products we can expect to see in the next couple of years.
Vice President and General Manager, Nissan North America Inc, Al Castignetti says, "This new Pathfinder concept is just the beginning of a far-reaching wave of new products on the horizon for Nissan. By the end of 2012, more than 70 percent of our sales volume will be all-new or redesigned."1
We're excited to see all of the new developments from Nissan in the next couple of years, but we'd like to take a minute to talk about all of the exciting changes to the Pathfinder. Let's start with the outside: it doesn't look like any Pathfinder we've seen before. It's more aerodynamic and contemporary looking, and will come equipped with one of the most efficient V6 engines available today. The seven-passenger vehicle will also come with four-wheel drive and extremely competitive towing capacity.
The model unveiled in Detroit is just the concept, but we'll have more details on the production model before it arrives in our showroom later this year. And as we said, this is just a glimpse into the future of Nissan. Be sure to stay tuned with Royal Nissan to stay up-to-date on this and other emerging news from the automaker. We're located at 9325 Airline Highway Baton Rouge, LA 70815, and we invite you to stop in and ask any questions or learn more about the Nissan lineup.
