The Future Looks Bright for Nissan

The all-new 2013 Nissan Altima has only just arrived here at Royal Nissan, but it's already helping Nissan post sales gains this summer. Not only did the automaker celebrate their best June ever, they also earned an upgrade on their credit score.

Moody's Investors Services in one of the top three credit rating agencies in the world, and the score reflects the risk to an investor in the case of a default. Scores range from the lowest, C, to the top score, Aaa. Nissan has been ranked at the top of the mid-range at Baa1 for some time now, but this year, Moody's recognize their continued growth and stability with a bump up to A3 - a very low risk investment.

The company explains, "The upgrade reflects Moody's expectation that Nissan's new product cadence, its continuing focus on cost controls and its commitment to building global brand value will enable Nissan to sustain the strong performance."1

June sales most certainly reflect this trend, with total unit sales topping 90k, up from 71,940 last year at the same time. The Nissan Division posted sales gains of 25 percent overall, thanks to models like the Nissan Juke, sales of which went up 52.7 percent. The new Altima helped, too, with total sales of 21,182, an 11.7 percent increase.

Al Castignetti, VP and General Manager, Nissan Division explains, "We expect our momentum to continue into July, the first full month of sales for our all-new 2013 Nissan Altima, which is our most innovative mid-size sedan ever."1
