2012 marks the 20^th year the ENERGY STAR Awards have been in existence, and EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson says, "Nissan and all our ENERGY STAR award winners are helping Americans find cost-effective ways to save energy in everything we do, which is good for our climate, our health, and our future."¹

Companies honored by Sustained Excellence Awards have shown their commitment to building a more sustainable future with the use of advanced technology each year. By setting strict environmental goals, decreasing their greenhouse gas discharges, and consistently reinventing their manufacturing practices Nissan continues to set the green example for other automakers.

Nissan, of course, is grateful by the gratitude for all of their hard work. Bill Krueger, Vice Chairman, Nissan Americas, says, "Nissan is committed to partnering with ENERGY STAR in our efforts to increase energy efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing with the highest quality vehicles sold in North America."² He goes on to say that this award highlights Nissan's global goals of leading in zero-emission technology and corporate responsibility.
