 FIRST ALL ELECTRIC VEHICLE PURCHASED IN BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA

Signaling the state's readiness for environmentally clean transportation, Baton Rouge has now ordered its first 100% electrical car for the first customer. The Nissan LEAF, the only true mass produced 100% electric car in the world, became available for sale in the State of Louisiana this month. Royal Nissan has ordered Baton Rouges first electric LEAF for a customer who will take delivery in the next 4-6 weeks. "The inclusion of Louisiana in the launch of the Nissan LEAF recognizes our commitment at Royal Nissan to clean energy and the culmination of our work to prepare the state for the next generation of electric vehicles." As we move forward we hope to see many more all electric Nissan LEAF's on the road". Furthermore, Brad Smith, owner of Royal Nissan, is excited about assisting and even providing free electric chargers for larger developments that would like the opportunity to offer their customers free and easy charging. "We are very excited to be such a large part of creating a better environment and moving Baton Rouge to the forefront of environmentally friendly cities" says Smith.

The Nissan LEAF is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack instead of an internal combustion engine. There is no oil, no gas tank and no tailpipe emissions, and the vehicle can get more than 100 miles on a single battery charge for about the cost of a gallon of gas.
